BRUCENNIAL 2010
Miseducation - (I have some art included in this)
SoHo: The Bruce High Quality Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of The BRUCENNIAL 2010: Miseducation on February 25th at 6pm.
Since its founding, the BRUCENNIAL has evolved into The Bruce High Quality Foundation's signature public program, as well as the most important survey of contemporary art in the world ever. Following the triumphant successes of BRUCENNIAL08: Doing it Again (Bushwick) and BRUCENNIAL09: Smithumenta (Carol Gardens), BRUCENNIAL2010: Miseducation brings together 420 artists from 911 countries working in 666 discrete disciplines to reclaim education as part of an artist's ongoing practice beyond the principals of any one institution or experience.
The BRUCENNIAL will be housed at 350 West Broadway. Additionally, BHQFU projects will be on view at RECESS at 41 Grand Street.
The BRUCENNIAL is presented by The Bruce High Quality Foundation in collaboration with Vito Schnabel. 350 West Broadway is provided courtesy of Aby Rosen.

Camel Art Space is pleased to announce Soft Edge, a group exhibition of abstract works by Peter Acheson, Nora Griffin, Chris Martin, Anna Rosen, Rachel Salamone, and Maria Walker. An opening reception will be held on Friday, December 11th, 6 - 9pm. The show will be on view weekends 12-6pm or by appointment until December 20th.
The artists in Soft Edge all share a hands-on approach to their materials, while each artist offers their own unique and playful reinterpretation of abstraction. There is a raw directness to the artists' process, yet the works maintain a quiet elegance.

-The Natural Order - Exhibition Description
What began as a casual investigation into the 'current' of Art Making in the Greater Wiliamsburg area quickly evolved into a reflecting upon the symbiotic push & pull of human and environment.
C.A.S. is proud to present, -The Natural Order-, a collection of local & under-exposed Williamsburg artists in conversation on the effect of man in nature, & the affect of nature on man.
Not merely a caption on the inconvenient truth of our looming carbon footprint, these artists dig deeper. They seem to mine veins of socio-political legacy & cultural artifact, endeavoring toward some core truth on the perpetuality of coexistence.
It seems natural in a time of continuing political fissure & economic erosion that the seers of our age would consider the wild, for clues as to role, connection & place with more lasting integrity. To this end, the artists draw from multiple and disparate sources of inspiration. Examples include imperialistic, hierarchical ideology to the detritus of urban convenience to the spiritual modus of the ancients. From parasitism toward mutualism, 'The Natural Order' considers equally the tocsins of that which we leave behind as much as the prescience of the trail markers ahead

BEG BORROW STEAL is a group show of 35 young artists, juried and curated by Aaron M. Segal, a MassART graduate. Aaron is currently the art preparator of the LaMontagne Gallery. His objective for the show was to organize a group of peers, who may at this point in their careers still have limited access to commercial galleries, and give them the opportunity to show in one of Boston's best. In the spirit of the show, the LaMontagne Gallery has been begged borrowed and stolen while Russell LaMontagne is on vacation, hopefully he won't mind.
